Limerick County Council - Arts Database

Form Filling Guidelines

Completing your application form

The application form seeks information under a range of headings, such as arts discipline,  description of applicant's own art work and experience of working in community contexts.  In many instances an applicant will select artist and arts facilitator.

It is very important that you complete the application form as clearly and concisely as possible. The clearer the information you submit the better the representation of you and your work on the Arts Database.

This is particularly important when describing your work.  For example, if you are a writer please tell us what type of writing, fiction, non-fiction, for adults, children etc. If you are a musician please state if you are a composer,  performer and what instrument you play, etc. If you are a craftworker please make clear which medium you work in such as ceramics, glass, wood, etc.  If you are a visual artist state clearly if you work in the areas of painting, sculpture, print, performance, installation, photography, etc.

In the application form the term Arts Facilitator is used to describe artists or arts workers who create art with others such as schools, groups, etc.

The application form asks each applicant to tell us what experience they have of working in school, group, community or healthcare settings. The information is requested in the application form under the heading Arts in Our Community. Applications will be assessed by Limerick County Council’s Arts Office before being added to the online Arts Database.
