Cert / Licensing Applications heard in Court
Each notification forwarded to the Fire Service related to a court date must enclose a €250 fee. (Exception: Multiple notifications for the same premises, relating to the same court sitting incur only one €250 fee). For more information see our Court Licensing page

Charges for Fire and Rescue Services
Under the Fire Services Act, 1981, “a fire authority shall be entitled to charge users or beneficiaries of a fire service for services which it provides.” An invoice is sent to all persons availing of the fire service based on the following rates. Fire charges are an important element in financing the fire service and help fund the cost of providing the service.

Note 1 No charge is levied in the case of incidents involving fatalities.
Note 2 No Charge is levied in the case of fire brigade attendance where service is not provided.
Note 3 No Charge if call cancelled on route.

What should I do once I receive a fire invoice?
In cases where the property or vehicle is covered by insurance, you are advised to contact your insurance company as you may be covered for fire brigade charges under your insurance policy.
How can I pay an invoice?
Payment can be made in the following ways:-
• post to Limerick County Council, County Hall, Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick or • in our Cash Office, County Hall, Dooradoyle between the hours of 9.30am to 4.00pm or • in our Area Offices (Annacotty, Rathkeale, Croom, Kilmallock, Newcastle West) or • by telephone through laser/credit card. Please phone the Cash Office at (061-496358 or 061-496455) to pay by laser/credit card. • By Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), Limerick County Council’s bank details are as follows: Allied Irish Banks Plc., 106/108 O’Connell Street, Limerick. Bank Sort Code. 93 52 47. Bank Account No. 87042040. Please quote your fire service invoice number when making payment.
What if I received an invoice for a road traffic accident?
An invoice is sent to the registered owner of each vehicle involved in a road traffic accident.
When two or more parties are involved in a road traffic accident, payment in full should be made by the person accepting liability or who has been deemed liable, either by agreement or as determined by a court of law.
What if I didn’t call the fire brigade?
An invoice is issued to the person who has received the benefit of the service, and liability for the charge is not dependant on whether the person called the fire service.
What if I don’t have insurance and I can’t afford to pay the invoice?
Payment of the invoice can be facilitated in instalments. A person can write to the Fire Office, Limerick County Council, County Hall, Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick outlining their circumstances and it will be examined taking the following factors into account:
