The following green waste is accepted at the Council’s landfill and three Civic Amenity Centres:
tree and hedge clippings, light branches (<10cm in diameter), leaves and grass cuttings.
The following green waste items are not accepted : cordelines, new zealand flax and pampas grasses.
Green waste is accepted at the following facilities:
Gortadroma Landfill Site - 069 82 33 9 ( Monday – Friday, 8.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., including lunch time ).
Mungret Civic Amenity Centre (087) 7489130 ( Tuesday – Saturday, 10.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.).
Kilmallock Civic Amenity Centre (087) 7489130 ( Tuesday & Saturday, 10.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.).
Newcastle West Civic Amenity Centre (087) 7489130 (Wednesday & Saturday 10.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.).
The green waste is mulched, turned and screened into a “soil conditioner / compost ” at the Council’s Mungret composting facility and distributed to the general public for their use at LCC’s three Civic Amenity Centres.
The former Green Waste Facility at the Council's Depot in the Annacotty Business Park is no longer open to the public as this site is now exclusively used as a maturation site for compost.
