Higher Education Grants - How do I apply?



Obtain an application form and Scheme details from Limerick County Council. Application forms are normally available each year in June. Read everything carefully first before you begin to fill up anything. Incomplete or partially completed applications will be returned to students, thus delaying the processing of the application.   Completed application forms may be returned to General Administration Office, Limerick Co. Council, County Hall, Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick  or to Area Offices at Newcastle West, Kilmallock , Rathkeale and Annacotty.

Documents you will need:
  • Application Form FULLY completed………..don’t leave any blanks.
  • Your original Long Form Birth Certificate.
  • Income Details
    If your parents are P.A.Y.E. Workers please submit P.60 and P.21 (balancing statement from tax office) for tax year ended 31st December, 2009.

    If your parents are in receipt of Social Welfare, letter from the Department of Social Welfare outlining total payments made for the tax year ended 31st December, 2009 and current weekly rate of payment indicating no of Child Dependent Allowances paid and the rate of allowance must be submitted.

    If your parents are Self-employed, the following must be submitted –
    Certified set of accounts for each business for a year ending between 1st January, 2009 and 31st December, 2009.
    Notice of Assessment for year ending 31st December, 2009.
    Income Tax Computation.
