Children's Book Festival 2008
Children’s Book Festival is a nationwide celebration of children's books and reading, held every year during the month of October.

Limerick County Library Service participates in Children’s Book Festival for the whole month of October, launching it in one of our Branch Libraries with a fantastic party day with the Festival declared officially open by the Chairman of Limerick County Council.  This year the launch party will take place in Dooradoyle Library on Saturday the 11th of October between the hours of 12.30pm and 4pm with An Leas-Cathaoirleach, Councillor Francis Foley in attendance.

The launch is usually a spectacular affair which sets the tone for the coming month of fun-filled activities, workshops, author visits, theatre and general mayhem. The excitement and buzz in Libraries throughout the County reaches fever-pitch before the conclusion at the end of October.

A full schedule of fun activities is planned for all ages throughout our library branches. The main purpose of the Festival is to foster an interest in reading among young people and to encourage them to visit their local Library.
