Newcastle West - Services Provided

The Area Office provides a wide range of services across all Programme Groups in accordance
with the programme for Better Local Government. These services include:

• Road Maintenance for the Newcastle Electoral Area.
• Water Services including processing of water supply grant and water and sewerage connections.
• Maintenance of Water & Sewerage Schemes.
• Burial Ground Maintenance.
• Maintenance of Council Housing Stock.
• Disabled Persons and Essential Repairs Grants.
• Sale of Dog Licences.
• Provide Casual Trading Licences.
• Community Group Liaison (including Community & Enterprise Development).

An on-line cash receipting facility is in operation at the Office (Latest time for paying bills is 3.45pm).

A Motor Taxation facility has been in operation from Áras William Smith OBrien from Monday 22nd October, 2001. 
Opening Hours are 9.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday including Lunch Time.  
This facility provides for TAX only. Driving licences are only issued by Motor Tax Section, Lissanalta House, Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick.

Weekly Planning Clinics are held with the Area Planners as well as a Planmap, on-line planning information facility.
