Week 1-5
- Receipt of application - by Planning Authority
- Validation of application - by Planning Authority
- Acknowledgement of receipt of application - by Planning Authority
- Referral to other bodies - by Planning Authority
- Site Visit - by Planning Authority
- Submissions/Objections received(full details can be found in "Services available to you at the Planning Public Counter",)
Week 5-8
- Decision is made – Grant/ Refuse or Further Information is Reuested.
(Applicant has 6 months to respond in full) (planning Authority has 4 weeks to make a decision on full response)
Week 8 + 4 weeks appeal period
The applicant or third party who has made a valid submission, has 4 weeks from the date of the decision of the Planning Authority to appeal that decision to An Bord Pleanala.
- If planning permission is granted, not appealed to An Bord Pleanala,
The ‘Final Grant’ of permission is issued four weeks, three days and ‘as soon as may be’ after the issue of the notification to grant. The receipt of this document in addition to the submission of a Commencement Notice(for further details) is your permission to begin development.
