Mungret Village Area – Construction of Mungret Sewerage Scheme

In accordance with the provisions of Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 Limerick County Council hereby gives notice that due to extremely difficult nature of excavations an order has been made to extend the closure of the roads detailed hereunder for a further period up to 5.00pm on Friday, 1st June, 2012 to facilitate construction of storm and foul sewer lines for Mungret Sewerage Scheme. This will be a full 24 hour closures at the locations where works are in progress.
Road to be Closed:
R859 Mungret Road from its junction with R510 (Raheen Road) at Quinn's Cross to its junction with L1438 (Moore's Lane).
Alternative Routes:
Traffic from Raheen:
Travel via R510 from Quinns Cross to N69 (Dock Road West roundabout) and N69 to Mungret village. Access to Mungret village (Castlemungret Cemetery, Church and GAA grounds) via L1437 (Mungret) or L1438 (Moores Lane).
Traffic from West of Mungret Village:
Traffic from West of Mungret Village should continue along N69 to Dock Road West Roundabout and take R510 exit off roundabout for Quinns Cross. There will be normal access to Mungret village (Castlemungret Cemetery, Church and GAA grounds) at this time.
Time of Closure: FULL 24 HOUR CLOSURE
From 5.00 pm on Friday 27th April 2012
To 5.00 pm on Friday 1st June 2012
Local traffic will be accommodated. Diversions will be clearly sign-posted.
