APPLICATION TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FOR WASTE WATER DISCHARGE LICENCES

Notice is hereby given in accordance with the Waste Water Discharge (Authorisation) Regulations, 2007 (S.I. No. 684 of 2007), that Limerick County Council, County Hall, Dooradoyle, County Limerick is making an application to the Environmental Protection Agency (the Agency), for a Waste Water Discharge Licences.

This application relates to the wastewater works consisting of the Athea Waste Water Treatment Plant located in Athea, County Limerick (Grid Ref: 112478E, 135553N) which provides primary treatment to sewage from the Athea area and its environs. The Primary Discharge Point is located in the townland of Templeathea West, approximately 0.5km downstream of Athea Bridge on the R524 Regional Road at Athea, County Limerick at Grid Ref: 112392E, 135549N and discharges to the Galey River.

This application relates to the wastewater works consisting of the Ballingarry Waste Water Treatment Plant located in Ballingarry, County Limerick (Grid Ref: 141854E, 136770N) which provides primary and secondary treatment to sewage from the Ballingarry area and its environs. The Primary Discharge Point is located in the townland of Rylanes, approximately 0.75km downstream of Ballingarry centre on the R519 Regional Road at Ballingarry, County Limerick at Grid Ref: 141866E, 136843N and discharges to a tributary of the Finshenagh Stream.

This application relates to the wastewater works consisting of the Bruree Waste Water Treatment Plant located in Bruree, County Limerick (Grid Ref: 154570E, 130659N) which provides primary and secondary treatment to sewage from the Bruree area and its environs. The Primary Discharge Point is located in the townland of Knockfenora, approximately 0.5km downstream of Bruree Bridge on the R518 Regional Road at Bruree, County Limerick at Grid Ref: 154484E, 130640N and discharges to the River Maigue.

This application relates to the wastewater works consisting of the Foynes Waste Water Treatment Plant located in Foynes, County Limerick (Grid Ref: 124592E, 151968N) which provides primary treatment to sewage from the Foynes area and its environs. The Primary Discharge Point is located in the townland of Leahys, immediately downstream of the quay adjacent to the N69 National Secondary Road, Foynes, County Limerick at Grid Ref: 124574E, 152100N and discharges to the River Shannon Estuary.

This application relates to the wastewater works consisting of the Glin Waste Water Treatment Plant located in Glin, County Limerick (Grid Ref: 112873E, 147466N) which provides primary treatment to sewage from the Glin area and its environs. The Primary Discharge Point is located at Knockaranna Point in the townland of Killacolla, adjacent to the quay at the mouth of the Glencorbry River, Glin, County Limerick at Grid Ref: 112759E, 147577N and discharges to the River Shannon Estuary.

There are no Storm Water Overflows or Secondary Discharges relevant to this application.

This application relates to the wastewater works consisting of the Oola Waste Water Treatment Plant located in Oola, County Limerick (Grid Ref: 182217E, 142490N) which provides primary and secondary treatment to sewage from the Oola area and its environs. The Primary Discharge Point is located in the townland of Moanoola, approximately 0.75km northwest of Oola centre approximately 150m north of the N24 National Primary Road at Oola, County Limerick at Grid 182102E, 142696N and discharges to a stream which discharges approximately 3.0km northeast to the Dead River.

This application relates to the wastewater works consisting of the Pallasgreen Waste Water Treatment Plant located in Pallasgreen, County Limerick (Grid Ref: 177015E, 146687N) which provides primary and secondary treatment to sewage from the Pallasgreen area and its environs. The Primary Discharge Point is located in the townland of Dromeenboy, approximately 0.75km downstream of the road bridge at Garrane More, Pallasgreen, County Limerick at Grid Ref: 176895E, 147960N and discharges to a tributary of the Dead River which discharges to the Mulkear River.
