About the Roads Section


Introduction

The Roads Section of Limerick County Council is responsible for the design & construction of new roads & the maintenance & restoration of the County’s existing road network, within the present available resources.

Our Road Network is a valuable asset and one which must be managed and maintained effectively & efficiently as it essentially provides access to homes, businesses, industry & recreational facilities, which all impact on the social, economic and cultural life within the County.

Limerick County Council are the designated Roads Authority for the County of Limerick and its rights & obligations in this regard are set out in the Roads Act 1993.
