Main Road Improvements
The following road improvements are scheduled to be completed in 2010.
Resurfacing works on N24 at Milltown to Clooncunna
Resurfacing works on N21 at Killarney Road, Abbeyfeale.
Resurfacing works on N69 west of Askeaton
Safety Improvements on National Roads
It is proposed to carry out safety improvement works at a number of locations on National Roads in 2010. These works would include improved road markings and signage as well as new or improved public lighting.

Bridges on National Primary Roads
Repairs will be carried out on National Road bridges as follows. The works are being carried out as part of a Regional Tender by the National Roads Authority which also includes bridges in Kerry, Clare and Waterford. It is expected that savings in both time and cost will be delivered by utalising a single Contract.

Low Cost Safety Improvements
It is proposed to carry out works to improve road safety at the following locations. The works will generally involve revised road markings and signage and may also involve buildouts and other minor structural changes.

Structures
It is proposed to advance the necessary design and critical work, as resources permit, to the following structures during 2010.
Bridge at Pallasgreen Coon Bridge, Feenagh Glasha Bridge, Doon Railway wall at Parkview, Shanagolden Railway structure at River View, Kilmallock Allaghaun Bridge, Abbeyfeale
Regional Road Signposting
Over the past few years the Council has undertaken a programme to improve the signposting on Regional Roads in the county. To date improved signage has been erected on the R524 Abbeyfeale to Glin, R521 Newcastle West to Foynes, R522 Newcastle West to Dromcollogher roads, R512 Kilmallock to Limerick, R513 Mitchelstown to Caherconlish, R505 Doon to N24 and R506 Cappamore to Dromcollogher roads. In all improved signage have been provided over a distance of 185km of roadway by the end of 2009. Funding for the signs has been provided by the Department of Transport as part of the allocation for Non-National roads, including an allocation of €150,000 in 2010. Designs are being prepared in respect of the roads to be improved in 2010 and the Council plans to continue with the upgrade of signage on other Regional Roads when funding allows.
