Dog Licences
Where do I get a Dog Licence A dog licence is available from all Post Offices, Limerick County Council Headquarters and at the following Area Offices : Rathkeale, Newcastle West, Annacotty, Kilmallock, and Croom. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, bank draft or Visa.
Cost A dog licence costs €12.70
The dog licence is valid for 1 year. All details (breed, colour, etc.) are entered into our database and an annual reminder will be generated in advance of each expiry date.
A General Dog Licence is also available at a fee of €253.95 and covers a pack of 20 dogs or more for 12 months.
Dog Warden Service The income from dog licences helps to fund the Dog Warden Service in County Limerick. The Wardens may be contacted on 061 30 16 04 or 087 90 79 50 5. The Dog Pound, at Brookfield Kennels, Mungret is open from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30p.m., Monday to Friday.
Please advise this office if your dog has died or is no longer in the household in order that the database can be up-dated accordingly.
