Montpelier Sewerage Scheme

Montpelier Sewerage Scheme is included in the Water Services Investment Programme along with six villages in County Clare.

White Young Green/ J.B. Bally & Partners Consulting Engineers were appointed by Clare County Council to prepare a Preliminary report for the provision of sewerage schemes to serve existing and future requirements of these villages.

Due to their proximity, the Preliminary report proposes to group the three villages of Bridgetown, O’Briensbridge and Montpelier together when considering the treatment and outfall options. The preferred option is to pump the three villages untreated to a centrally located Wastewater Treatment Plant and discharge locally.

The overall cost of the three village scheme is €3.9million at July 2008 prices.

Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government approval to this Preliminary report is awaited.
