Eligibility

A person is eligible for a grant if he or she is:
- Providing a piped supply of water to an existing house for the first time, or
- Carrying out improvements to a seriously deficient existing piped supply of water to a house,
where the supply of water concerned is a supply other than a public or group scheme supply.
Please note that the Limerick County Council will carry out a prior inspection to determine eligibility of the application under the terms of the scheme.
Conditions:
- The house must be occupied by the applicant as his/ her normal place of residence.
- The house must be built over seven years.
The applicant is not eligible for a grant:
- Where the houses concerned is under construction or has been constructed within the previous seven years,
- If the house can be served by an existing or proposed Group Water Supply Scheme
- If a grant for the provision of the house concerned or the provision of a water supply to that house has been paid in the previous seven years.
N.B. works carried out before a prior inspection by Limerick County Council do not qualify.
If the grant is applied for in respect of water treatment, Limerick County Council requires that water quality tests (before and after works) are supplied together with three quotations for the proposed works.
In all instances, the application form must be accompanied by a site location map of the house concerned.
