IMPORTANT NOTICE RE PLANNING APPLICATIONS AND THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD.
Please note that under Article 251 of the Planning & Development Acts the dates between December 24th and January 1st, both days inclusive, are disregarded when calculating dates in respect of processing applications.
To take account of these disregarded days when calculating dates in respect of affected applications, nine days are added from the date of receipt of the application to determine the correct deadline in respect of submissions due, decisions due, etc.
For example: for an application lodged on the 29th of November 2011, the five week period during which submissions can be received and during which the site notice must be kept in place at all times expires on the 11th of January 2012, i.e. five weeks form receipt of the applications plus nine days to take account if the Christmas period.
You can view the correct date in respect of affected applications by logging onto www.lcc.ie/planning and viewing the application of interest using the planning enquiry facility.
